i really don't know whether to love it or hate it. (technology, i mean) i've spent a good part of my creativity today on photographing my products and then figuring out how to make them look good on my blog. grr. anyways, i think i'm getting the hang of it. i have lots to show from the past couple of weeks-i've been on a bit of a creative binge and the thanksgiving vacation came at just the right time. first, i got excited about denim- denim stretch skirts and the perfect sized tote (which for me, is more like a beach bag, because i'm a teacher and an artist and i carry alot of things around). here is a closeup of one of the skirts:

and here's a taste of what this month has looked like, with birds, ancestors, fabric scraps, etc.- i'm slowly bringing all my inspirations together- i think. anyways- this photo is a good representation of the hodge podge of my november:
i've really been researching my ancestors alot and found out some interesting things about my grandmothers (one of them went to school for fashion design!) - and although i've had the letters shown in this photo for a long time- a friend read it out loud at a samhain, and was able to decipher more of it than i ever could. . .they are love letters between her and my grandfather before he died in WWII- the sweetest letters about knitting booties for my mom and bathing eachother (scandalous, i know). . .it's been strange how i feel closer to my grandmother now more than ever, living so far away from my family and doing the "art" thing that noone in my family ever really had the guts to do. . I so often feel like a black sheep in my family- and yet when i look at my grandmother in that photo and read the letters between her and my grandfather, i feel like we're peering into eachother and recognizing our similar long arms and handwriting and interests- and i can't help but feel lucky about knowing this thread that carries through time. . . .and on that note- in the longest blog that i've ever written, i'll show you a better picture of her and those letters:
